Sustainability Week
13 to 17 January 2020
Sustainability Week took place at the College from 13 to 17 January 2020 with several different events organised by the students happening during break and lunch times. On Monday an Environmental Quiz took place, on Tuesday the students took place in a Rubbish Relay, Wednesday was Zero Energy Day when, where possible, no electric energy was used in classrooms, on Thursday there was a Zero Waste Bake Sale and on Friday the students ran a Swap Shop/Second Hand Clothes Sale.
There werealso be workshops showing students how to make:
- Sandwich wrappers out of cotton and beeswax
- Bird boxes and pollinator hides
- An Oceans' Awareness Table
Reusable school bottles and goods were on sale all week with all proceeds going to the Australian Koala Foundation.
All food available in the Canteen on Thursday 16 January was be meat-free.
