Results
Congratulations to our students who participated in the PDST Young Economist of the Year competition. All seven of our Gold Medals were placed and we won one of the three main awards (details below):
1st Year:

Award: 5th Year IGEES Runner Up
6th Year:
Student: Giorgio Mucciacito Franco

Award: 6th Year IGEES Runner Up
Student: Phineas Godfrey
Project: An Investigation into the Susceptibility of the Irish Retail Mobile Market to Tacit Collusion
Award: 6th Year IGEES Winner
Central Bank of Ireland Award
This award is for projects based on the Irish Economy or Monetary Policy
5th Year:
Student: Giulia Baratta
Project: Pandemics and the Economy: How can Central Banks Respond?
Award: Overall Winner of the Central Bank of Ireland Award 2020
Giulia has won €500 and once it is safe to do so she will have the opportunity to carry out two weeks of work experience in the Central Bank.
Irish Economic Olympiad Team 2020
Giorgio Mucciacito Franco (6IB) has been selected as one of the five students from all 32 counties to represent Ireland at the above event that was due to take place in Khazakstan but due to Covid-19 will now take place as a virtual event in September.
