Cycle Against Suicide

Well done to everyone involved in this day of cycling to raise awareness.

On Thursday May 5th, we had a great day in school.   We wanted to support the terrific people at Cycle Against Suicide and so we ran a stationary cycle competition between the different year groups and staff.   The day began at 7am and finished at 5pm. Between us we cycled from Mizen to Malin and back,  twice!   Well done to the Fifth Year students who came in so early!   We had ten bikes outside the Collen Building and they were on the go non-stop. There was one staff bike, one Sixth Year bike and the other bikes were used by each year in two hour blocks.   Well done to the Transition Year team, especially Patrick Quinn and Jessica Smith for all their hard work. The Sixth Year participants were the winners of the pizza lunch.

We would especially like to thank the following for their support and generosity:

Brendan O’Hagan of Flyefit Gyms, Simon Filgas, Molly Parsons, Ciaran Ryan, Andrew Boyle and Liam Dunne of Belpark Triathlon Club, Gary Crossan of Triathlon Ireland and Halford’s, The Park Cabinteely.
