U20 Rugby World Cup Final

England 45 : Ireland 21

Ireland met England in the final of the Rugby U20 World Cup Final at the AJ Bell Stadium in Manchester on Saturday 25 June with Greg Jones and Andrew Porter, two alumni from the Class of 2014, on the team.  Following an unbeaten path to the final, they met a very strong English side and the Irish team achieved a best ever finish of second, losing 21 : 45 to very strong opposition.  In the course of the championship they were the first Irish national men's team to beat a New Zealand side.  Andrew Porter was one of the four Irish players picked for the championship's Dream Team.  Matt Deegan, the No 8, a past pupil of St Michael's College was voted player of the tournament.  He and Andrew Porter have both been awarded places in the Leinster academy for next season.

Well done Greg and Andrew from all at St Andrew's College - we look forward to following your careers in the future.
