Talk on Teenage Behaviour by Stuart Wilson
The PTA were delighted to host Stuart Wilson as our guest speaker on 25 September 2019.
As parents we rely on support and information as well as our own intuition in order to parent our children to the best of our ability. When we first become parents everything is a complete unknown. We are rarely prepared despite the best of intentions! Gradually we find our way into a parenting style that sits well with us.
Each new milestone that our children reach requires new skills and new information. And then, seemingly out of the blue, we find ourselves the parents of teenagers. Boundaries shift and we often find that we need a new compass to guide us so that we can make sense of this new territory.
Stuart gave us a very informative guide to the behaviours teenagers exhibit and a physiological understanding as to why they have these behaviours.
Stuart is a psychotherapist and founded Zestlife Therapeutic Services in Churchtown working with families and teenagers. He is also a founder of Zest4Kidz children's charity working with vulnerable children worldwide and is a Co-founder of ZestLife College training therapists nationwide.
