Group 2

Group 2 LANGUAGE B English, French, Spanish Higher and Standard Level

AIMS
The Language B programme emphasises the concepts of communication and creative thinking, both written and spoken. The medium of instruction is primarily the language concerned and this offers an intense and rewarding linguistic experience. Knowledge of another language is not only useful; it also contributes to the ‘internationalism’ of students. It develops understanding, tolerance and divergent thinking.

COURSE CONTENT
This course involves the regular study of the language itself, its structures, its idioms and vocabulary, not only through the use of textbooks but also by using material such as newspapers, magazines, films and the internet. The course will be thematic and some literature will be incorporated at higher level and may also be included at standard level.
