At St Andrew's College we believe that it is polite to take an interest in one another's languages. We want to put languages at the heart of learning and believe that the earlier you start to learn a language the better. It also makes the transition from primary to secondary school easier for the children. We want to see pupils, whatever their backgrounds, achieve at levels appropriate to them and provide a greater choice of achievements for them.
In St Andrew's Junior School we are lucky to have specialised teachers for French, Spanish and Irish. They place a major emphasis on oral language and ensure that the children learn through fun filled activities. Most of our students have benefitted greatly from learning a language they can then use during their holidays.
